VOLUNTEER - ongoing

KCAPS employs a minimal staff.  The vast majority of work that happens here is done by our wonderful, faithful, volunteers.     We are a Christian Ministry but you certainly don't have to be a Christian to volunteer. 


Current needs: 

  • Kingsburg Thrift Store - we are looking for volunteers to help run the registers as well as sort, tag, and display items in the store.    People of all ages enjoy volunteering here.  We have volunteers as young as 12 and several volunteers who are well into their golden years. 
  • Those who volunteer long term are gaining work experience.  We are pleased to offer these opportunities to High School and College aged students who need work experience.

  • Kingsburg Office - we are looking for volunteers to help stock the food bank & to work as volunteer receptionists.

  • ESL Teachers - we are looking for those able to teach English to Spanish speaking adults.  If we have the staffing available we would like to offer classes in Kingsburg, London, and Traver.

VOLUNTEER - SEASONAL

FOOD DRIVE -  November  of each year    


The date changes each year but the Young Life Food Drive for KCAPS is held on Wednesday, the WEEK BEFORE Thanksgiving.     This Community Wide Food Drive helps us substantially in stocking our Food Bank.    

  • Volunteers are needed to help distribute paper collection bags door to door the weekend before the event
  • Volunteers are needed to help receive, sort, and box donated food
  • Volunteers are needed to help Young Life pick up donated food.  Help is needed in the form of drivers as well as those who can walk from door to door to gather the donations.

CHRISTMAS WITH DIGNITY TOY STORES -  help needed November & December

                  in 2017 over 700 children received toys through this ministry. 

  • In mid-December KCAPS sponsors Christmas With Dignity Toy Stores  in Kingsburg, London, and Traver
  • Parents who qualify can sign up to shop at the special event held in their community
  • Parents pay only $5.00 per child and are able to select & purchase a bundle of toys/clothing for their child valued at $30.00 or more
  • Parents who cannot afford the $5.00 receive a further discount
  • Volunteers are needed to help sort and bundle donations
  • Volunteers are needed to help wrap gifts on the day of the event
  • Volunteers are needed to DONATE TOYS or MONEY TO PURCHASE TOYS.
